Bends with a larger radius than standard can be made by using the groove for the next size larger. This will give just a trifle more flatte ning at the bend, but usually not seen by the eye and is well within code requirements. By this same method, a machine for thinwall conduit (Models 5300 and 5400) can be used to make larger radius bends in rigid conduit as follows:

Thinwall Rigid Conduit
Larger radius bends
3/4" TW will bend 1/2" rigid to 5" radius. 1" TW will bend 3/4" rigid to 6" radius.
1-1/4" TW will bend 1" rigid to 8" radius. 3/4" TW will bend 1/2" rigid to 5" radius.
